I am a 16-year-old junior at Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville, Maryland. Growing up, I’ve been exposed to a multitude of cultures as my parents were both born in Bangladesh, but they have lived all over the world. I learn Chinese as a third language and enjoy its contrast to Sanskrit and Romance languages. Along with writing, I enjoy a number of other activities, including drawing, singing, playing the guitar, biking, and playing soccer. I often use music as a tool to discover new cultures and to explore my own.

I’m Arianna, a fifteen-year-old sophomore at Richard Montgomery High School. This magazine drew my attention through its ability to bring people together, which is something I think the world needs right now. I have always been captivated by the arts; drawing, painting, writing, and music have always been a part of me. I see Periphery Magazine as a way to connect people through these forms. In my free time, I like to sketch, play guitar with my sister, and listen to Led Zeppelin. I’m currently learning Mandarin in school and Japanese in my free time. I’m excited to help start a Periphery branch in the DC area!
