Meet the Augusta Board
I'm a senior at Lakeside High School in Evans, Georgia. I joined Periphery Magazine because I understand the importance of the written word and visual art. I believe that this will be an outlet to share creative ideas with other young people. I want to explore the relationships among history, art, language, and culture. I have always been an avid reader and writer, and I am interested in film/television writing and production. I also enjoy playing the piano, cooking, and volunteering.
I’m a junior at Lakeside High School in Evans, Georgia. I love learning about other cultures, including my own. I will be going into the medical field, where writing is a necessary skill to have in order to write grants. I hope I can inspire other people to be proud of their culture and express it creatively. In my free time, I like baking, playing the piano, and playing with my dog Korrie.

I am a 17-year-old senior who is in the International Baccalaureate Program at Lakeside High School in Evans, Georgia. Even though I was born and raised here in the States, I come from an Indian background. Because of this, I am able to speak and understand Hindi and was surrounded by the Indian culture and Hindu religion my whole life. At school, I am learning about the Spanish language and Hispanic culture. Learning about 3 different cultures and languages has really helped me learn to look at ideas from different perspectives and shape my understanding of the world. I became a part of Periphery so that those with different perspectives and cultures in Augusta will be able to strengthen their voices.
